Project Manager – Data Centers

About the Opportunity

Our client is a leading owner and operator of mission-critical data center infrastructure, delivering highly resilient facilities that support some of the world's largest technology companies and enterprise customers.

Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of new data center builds, expansions, and critical infrastructure projects from inception through to handover.

This role will suit someone with a strong background in construction or engineering project management within mission-critical environments who enjoys managing complex stakeholders, contractors, and technical delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of data center construction and infrastructure projects.

• Manage project scope, programme, budget, quality, and risk throughout the project lifecycle.

• Coordinate multidisciplinary consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure successful project execution.

• Oversee contractor performance, ensuring works are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the required quality standards.

• Monitor project costs, forecasts, procurement activities, and change management.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, consultants, and delivery partners.

• Ensure compliance with relevant Australian regulations, engineering standards, and company governance requirements.

• Chair project meetings and provide regular progress reporting to senior leadership.

• Support commissioning, practical completion, and operational handover activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.

• 5+ years' experience delivering major infrastructure, mission-critical, or commercial construction projects.

• Previous experience managing large-scale electrical and/or mechanical infrastructure projects.

• Strong understanding of project controls, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and contract management.

• Experience working with consultants, EPC contractors, and multiple stakeholder groups.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage complex project teams.

• Knowledge of commissioning and handover processes is highly desirable.

Desirable Experience

• Data center or mission-critical facility experience.

• Hyperscale or colocation project delivery.

• Experience with live operational environments.

• PMP, Prince2, or equivalent project management certification.
