Job Description
Edison Smart are looking to hire a Senior Building Automation Technician to join our client's growing team in Colorado. We're looking for an an individual with deep experience in building automation systems (BAS), strong troubleshooting capabilities, and a passion for optimizing building performance.
You will play a key role in commissioning, maintaining, and upgrading advanced control systems across education, commercial and federal projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, program, commission, and service building automation systems
- Diagnose and resolve system issues related to HVAC controls, networks, and field devices
- Lead system integration efforts and ensure seamless communication between platforms
- Perform system upgrades, expansions, and retrofits
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and sequence of operations
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior technicians
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to deliver high-quality solutions
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and project specifications
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in building automation or controls (5+ years preferred)
- Niagara N4 Certification (required)
- Strong working knowledge of BAS platforms, networking, and protocols (BACnet, Modbus, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with Distech Controls and/or Honeywell control systems
- Ability to independently troubleshoot complex systems
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems and sequences
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel/drive within the region for project requirements (company vehicle provided)
