Job Description

Wer're looking to hire an experienced Lead BAS Technician to join our client's growing team in Miami FL. This role is responsible for leading field installation, startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and service of Building Automation Systems across commercial and industrial facilities.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader with strong HVAC controls knowledge, leadership skills, and experience supporting complex BAS projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead installation, startup, commissioning, and service of BAS and HVAC control systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex controls, networking, and integration issues
  • Program, configure, and test BAS controllers, devices, and front-end systems
  • Coordinate field activities with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and customers
  • Mentor and support junior technicians in the field
  • Perform system diagnostics, point-to-point checkout, and functional testing
  • Interpret control drawings, wiring diagrams, and sequences of operation
  • Ensure projects and service work are completed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications
  • Support customer training and system turnover activities
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and reports

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Building Automation Systems or HVAC Controls
  • Strong knowledge of BAS platforms such as Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Schneider Electric, Tridium Niagara, Distech, or similar systems
  • Experience with controller programming, graphics, and system integration
  • Understanding of HVAC systems, controls sequences, and field wiring
  • Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, and IP networking
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings
  • Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally to job sites
