Job Description
We're looking to hire an experienced Senior BAS Estimator to join our growing team. This fully remote position is open to candidates located anywhere in the United States and offers the opportunity to work on high-profile building automation and smart building projects across multiple markets.
The ideal candidate has deep experience estimating Building Automation Systems projects, strong technical knowledge of HVAC controls, and the ability to develop accurate, competitive proposals for complex commercial and industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed BAS estimates and proposals for new construction and retrofit projects
- Review plans, specifications, sequences of operation, and bid documents
- Perform takeoffs for controllers, devices, panels, network infrastructure, and labor
- Develop accurate project costing including materials, subcontractors, engineering, programming, commissioning, and field labor
- Coordinate with sales teams, project managers, engineers, vendors, and customers during the bid process
- Evaluate project risks, scope gaps, and value engineering opportunities
- Prepare bid clarifications, qualifications, and scope narratives
- Maintain estimating databases, labor standards, and vendor pricing
- Support turnover meetings with operations teams upon project award
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience estimating Building Automation Systems or HVAC Controls projects
- Strong knowledge of BAS platforms such as Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Schneider Electric, Tridium Niagara, Distech, or similar systems
- Understanding of HVAC systems, controls architecture, and integration strategies
- Experience estimating commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, or mission-critical facilities
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and controls drawings/specifications
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Proficiency with estimating software, Excel, and Microsoft Office
