Job Description
Edison Smart is looking to hire an experienced Building Automation Systems (BAS) Project Manager to join a growing Controls business. This individual will lead the successful delivery of commercial and industrial automation projects throughout the Atlanta market. This role is responsible for managing all phases of BAS projects including planning, scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor coordination, commissioning support, and customer communication.
The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge of HVAC controls and building automation systems combined with excellent leadership and client management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple BAS projects from kickoff through closeout
- Oversee project schedules, budgets, manpower, and deliverables
- Coordinate with customers, subcontractors, field technicians, engineers, and vendors
- Lead project meetings and maintain strong customer relationships
- Review control drawings, submittals, sequences of operation, and specifications
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to contract requirements
- Support commissioning, startup, and system turnover activities
- Identify and mitigate project risks and resolve issues proactively
- Track change orders, procurement, and project documentation
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience managing Building Automation or HVAC Controls projects
- Strong understanding of BAS platforms such as Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Tridium Niagara, Distech, Schneider Electric, or similar systems
- Knowledge of HVAC systems, controls integration, and commissioning processes
- Experience with commercial construction projects
- Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
