Job Description
We are seeking a Building Automation Systems (BAS) Design Engineer with strong DDC or EPMS design experience to support the development and delivery of building automation and HVAC control systems for data center projects across the United States.
This is a fully remote position where you will work closely with project managers, field engineers, and clients to develop control panel layouts, system architectures, and detailed design drawings.
The ideal candidate is highly skilled in evit and has hands-on experience designing BAS or EPMS control hardware and layouts.
Key Responsibilities
- Design Building Automation control systems (DDC or EPMS) for commercial and industrial projects.
- Develop control panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and hardware schematics.
- Produce detailed design drawings using AutoCAD or Revit.
- Select and specify controllers, sensors, actuators, and field devices.
- Develop BOMs (Bill of Materials) and hardware specifications.
- Coordinate with project managers, field technicians, and commissioning teams to ensure accurate system implementation.
- Review project specifications and ensure designs meet customer and industry requirements.
- Support troubleshooting and provide technical guidance during installation and commissioning.
- Maintain documentation and ensure drawings are updated throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- 3+ years of experience in Building Automation / HVAC Controls design.
- Strong experience with hardware design for BAS systems (control panels, I/O layouts, wiring schematics).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit for system and panel design.
- Understanding of HVAC systems and building controls architecture.
- Experience with industry communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, or LonWorks.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
