BMS Engineer
Location: Cork, Ireland
Salary: Competitive (€70,000 – €80,000 DOE) + Benefits
About the Role
An established building automation specialist is seeking an experienced BMS Engineer to join its growing delivery team in Cork. This is a hands-on role working across a variety of commercial, pharmaceutical, and industrial projects, covering both new installations and upgrades of existing Building Management Systems.
You will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, from engineering and software development through to commissioning, client handover, and ongoing system optimisation.
Key Responsibilities

Design, engineer, and commission BMS solutions for HVAC and associated building services

Develop and modify BMS software using platforms such as Trend, Cylon, Siemens, Tridium (Niagara), or similar

Integrate third-party systems using BACnet, Modbus, KNX, or IP-based protocols

Carry out site commissioning, functional testing, and system optimisation

Support project delivery teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within scope

Provide technical support, fault finding, and troubleshooting for live systems

Liaise directly with clients, consultants, and subcontractors on-site

Produce technical documentation, commissioning records, and O&M manuals
Key Requirements

Proven experience working as a BMS / Controls Engineer

Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and building services

Experience with at least one major BMS platform (Trend, Cylon, Siemens, Schneider, Tridium, etc.)

Solid understanding of open protocols (BACnet, Modbus, KNX)

Ability to work independently on-site and manage your own workload

Strong communication and client-facing skills

Full driving licence (Ireland)
Desirable

Experience working on pharmaceutical, data centre, or regulated environments

Electrical or mechanical background

Commissioning or integration experience across multi-vendor systems
