Technical Director / Data Centre Design Manager – Perth

A leading engineering consultancy is looking for a Technical Director / Data Centre Design Manager to join its Buildings team in Perth.

This is a senior leadership position focused on the design and delivery of large-scale, multidisciplinary data centre projects, with responsibility for coordinating technical teams, managing design delivery and acting as a key client interface.

The Role

  • Lead engineering design management across multimillion-dollar data centre projects.

  • Coordinate electrical, mechanical, structural, civil and other design disciplines.

  • Act as a senior client interface, translating project requirements into clear design priorities and actions.

  • Manage design scope, programme, technical interfaces, risks, quality and key deliverables.

  • Lead design reviews and resolve multidisciplinary technical issues.

  • Drive practical, coordinated and constructible design solutions.

  • Provide senior technical and project leadership from design development through to delivery.

  • Support the development and mentoring of engineering teams.

About You

  • Degree qualified in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

  • Significant experience leading complex engineering design projects.

  • Proven experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams on large-scale data centre projects.

  • Strong understanding of data centre design and delivery.

  • Confident managing senior client relationships and leading technical discussions.

  • Strong programme, risk, quality and stakeholder management capabilities.

  • Experience with Tier I or Tier II data centre design would be highly regarded.

  • Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Designer (ATD) accreditation would be advantageous.
