Job Description

DCIM Engineer  

The company designs, builds and operates data centres supporting AI, cloud and digital transformation. This role manages and administers the Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), Building Management Systems (BMS) and SCADA platforms across QTS sites, covering strategy, design, configuration and support for new builds and upgrades.

Key Responsibilities

  • Keep DCIM systems protecting the facility, tracking power usage and capacity, and producing timely alarms and reports
  • Configure DCIM applications for new deployments, retrofits and new data requirements
  • Maintain documentation, test plans and change management records
  • Administer power provisioning, incident management and reporting processes
  • Coordinate field work and supervise contractors
  • Support testing and commissioning, and lead controls modifications to improve efficiency
  • Take part in the on-call rota, with up to 25% travel

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years with critical monitoring and control systems in critical facilities
  • Hands-on BMS and EPMS experience
  • Familiarity with chilled water plants, CRAHs and data centre power distribution
  • US citizenship (required for federal contracts)
  • Able to lift 40 lbs

Preferred

  • Aveva Wonderware certification
  • BMS platforms such as Tridium, ALC, Andover or Delta
  • PLC experience (Allen Bradley, Schneider, Siemens), 2+ years
  • BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, TCP/IP, SQL, ServiceNow, Active Directory, virtualised environments
  • BMS commissioning, and the ability to read and produce controls drawings, sequences of operation and functional specs
  • Basic single-phase and 3-phase power calculations
