Engineering Manager – Data Centres

A leading global data centre operator is looking to appoint an Engineering Manager to support the design and delivery of major hyperscale and colocation data centre projects across Australia.

The role will work across the full engineering lifecycle, coordinating internal teams, consultants and contractors to ensure projects are delivered to the required technical, quality and programme standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage engineering and design activities across data centre projects.

• Coordinate electrical, mechanical and building services design disciplines.

• Review and manage consultant design deliverables from concept through detailed design.

• Provide technical input into project development, procurement and delivery.

• Identify and manage technical risks, design issues and opportunities for value engineering.

• Coordinate with construction and commissioning teams throughout project delivery.

• Manage relationships with engineering consultants, contractors and specialist suppliers.

• Support engineering standards, design reviews and technical governance.

• Work closely with project, construction, commissioning and operations teams.

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers within the wider team.

Experience Required

• Experience in data centres, critical infrastructure or other complex technical environments.

• Strong engineering/design background, ideally across electrical or mechanical building services.

• Experience managing consultants and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

• Strong understanding of data centre design and project delivery.

• Experience taking projects from early design through construction and commissioning.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

• Australian project experience highly desirable.
