Junior BMS Engineer – Sydney

Salary: ~$90,000 AUD + Super
Location: Sydney, NSW

We’re currently working with a specialist Building Management Systems (BMS) and controls business in Sydney that is looking to add a Junior BMS Engineer to its growing engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer looking to develop their skills within BMS, building automation and HVAC controls, while gaining exposure to a range of commercial and critical infrastructure projects across Sydney.

The Role

As a Junior BMS Engineer, you will work alongside experienced BMS engineers and technicians, supporting the delivery, programming, commissioning and ongoing optimisation of BMS systems.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting BMS engineering, programming and commissioning activities
  • Assisting with BMS graphics, controls logic and system configuration
  • Supporting HVAC controls integration and troubleshooting
  • Assisting with commissioning and testing of BMS systems on client sites
  • Working with engineers and technicians to diagnose system faults
  • Supporting project documentation, point schedules and control strategies
  • Assisting with system upgrades, modifications and optimisation
  • Developing your knowledge of BMS platforms, HVAC controls and building automation
  • Working directly with clients and project teams as your experience develops

About You

We’re looking for someone with an engineering, automation, electrical, mechatronics or controls background who is looking to build a career within the BMS industry.

You may have:

  • 1–3 years’ experience in BMS, building automation, HVAC controls or a related engineering environment
  • An engineering qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automation or a related discipline
  • Exposure to BMS/PLC/SCADA systems
  • Understanding of HVAC systems and control principles
  • Experience with commissioning, programming or controls would be advantageous
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • A genuine interest in building automation and smart building technology

Experience with platforms such as Niagara, Schneider, Siemens, Honeywell, Distech or similar would be advantageous, but training can be provided for the right candidate.
