The Opportunity

A growing Australian Building Management Systems (BMS) and Building Automation integrator is looking for an experienced Service Technician to join its Victorian service team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded BMS professional who enjoys fault finding, troubleshooting and working directly with clients across a diverse range of commercial, healthcare, institutional and industrial environments.

You’ll play a key role in keeping critical building systems operating safely, reliably and efficiently, while working closely with experienced engineers and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and reactive maintenance across client sites.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults across BMS, controllers, sensors, field devices and HVAC plant.
  • Troubleshoot building automation and control systems.
  • Assist with commissioning, testing and system modifications.
  • Complete detailed service reports and maintain accurate technical records.
  • Build strong relationships with clients through professional technical support.
  • Identify opportunities for system improvements and additional service works.
  • Support project teams with commissioning and site-based technical activities.
  • Provide occasional after-hours support and respond to callouts when required.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is practical, solutions-focused and technically curious, with a genuine interest in building automation and controls.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Experience in BMS, BAS, HVAC controls, electrical, electronics, instrumentation, IT/networking or a related technical field.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • A proactive approach to managing and prioritising your workload.
  • A strong commitment to safety and quality.
  • A current Australian driver's licence.
  • Flexibility to provide occasional after-hours support when required.

Hands-on BMS experience is highly desirable, but candidates from adjacent technical backgrounds with the right attitude and aptitude will also be considered.

You may also work with Belimo, ABB, Phoenix Contact, sensors, actuators, VSDs, metering equipment and a range of HVAC plant including AHUs, FCUs, chillers, boilers, pumps, cooling towers and VAV systems.
