The Opportunity

We are working with a leading mission-critical commissioning and engineering consultancy delivering major data centre projects across Australia.

Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Data Centre Commissioning Manager to lead commissioning activities across large-scale projects in Sydney and Melbourne.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced commissioning professional to take ownership of complex mission-critical projects, work alongside some of the world's largest data centre operators, and lead multidisciplinary commissioning teams.

The Role

As Commissioning Manager, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end commissioning process, ensuring that critical infrastructure is delivered, tested and operational to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead and manage commissioning activities across major data centre projects.
• Develop and manage commissioning plans, schedules, procedures and documentation.
• Coordinate commissioning activities across electrical, mechanical, controls and building systems.
• Lead multidisciplinary commissioning teams, contractors, vendors and specialist consultants.
• Manage FAT, SAT, pre-functional testing, functional performance testing and integrated systems testing.
• Review commissioning documentation, method statements, test scripts and reports.
• Identify, manage and resolve commissioning issues throughout the project lifecycle.
• Work closely with project managers, construction teams, consultants and client representatives.
• Ensure projects meet strict quality, safety, performance and programme requirements.
• Provide technical leadership throughout the commissioning process.
• Support client handover and operational readiness.

About You

We are looking for an experienced commissioning professional with a strong background in data centres or other mission-critical environments.

You will ideally have:

• 7+ years' experience in commissioning, with significant experience in data centres.
• Previous experience as a Commissioning Manager / Lead Commissioning Manager / Senior Commissioning Manager.
• Strong understanding of mission-critical MEP systems.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary commissioning teams.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems within large-scale facilities.
• Experience with Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
• Strong understanding of commissioning methodologies, documentation and quality processes.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and programme.
• Relevant engineering, electrical, mechanical or building services qualifications are highly desirable.
