Key Responsibilities

SCADA Development & Project Execution

  • Develop and deploy Ignition Perspective projects with emphasis on intuitive navigation, responsive layouts, user-centric design, and reliable system visualization.
  • Create scalable graphics templates, reusable visual components, SVG graphics, floorplan views, trend displays, alarming visualization, and interactive dashboards according to established standards.
  • Configure Ignition gateway settings, user roles and permissions, redundancy support, and gateway connectivity to external software and devices for assigned projects.
  • Configure Kepware and related OPC UA integrations to support field device, PLC, BMS, and EPMS data connectivity.
  • Develop and implement UDTs that support alarming, historization, pipeline notifications, and unified namespace requirements per client standards.
  • Integrate field devices and PLCs into Ignition and Kepware OPC UA systems using protocols such as Modbus TCP, BACnet/IP, and related communication methods.
  • Create responsive interfaces that support desktop, tablet, mobile, Edge HMI, and operational workflows as required by the project scope.
  • Support MQTT-based telemetry and related modules to share Ignition tag data with other systems.

Qualifications

Required

  • 6+ years of relevant experience with SCADA development, Ignition Perspective, visualization design, automation, controls, or related technical work
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50-60%, including potential for extended site assignment
  • Experience developing SCADA graphics, custom components, dashboards, responsive layouts, or user-facing industrial visualization tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, Controls, Human-Computer Interaction, or related technical field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Strong understanding of SCADA front-end development, user experience principles, interface design, visual communication, and real-time data visualization.
  • Proficiency with Ignition Perspective development, graphics creation, tag configuration, templates, and component-based SCADA development.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, scripting concepts, databases, APIs, or modern web development practices preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&ID drawings, electrical drawings, mechanical drawings, system schematics, architectural plans, or controls documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, problem-solving, visual design judgment, and accountability for assigned deliverables.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, project management, field operations, vendors, and customers.
  • OSHA 10 certification obtained within the past two (2) years is required.
    • If certification is not current or has not been completed, OSHA 10 training will be provided and must be successfully completed within the first week of employment.
