Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer with a strong Electrical and Controls background to support a leading FMCG manufacturing facility in Slough.

This is a long-term opportunity for a contractor who can act as the interface between engineering teams and the end customer, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to specification. The role combines project engineering, technical review, and stakeholder management responsibilities within a live manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Project Engineering support across electrical and controls projects.
  • Review engineering specifications, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure appropriate processes and project steps are in place to support successful software and controls delivery.
  • Support project execution from a customer perspective, ensuring quality and compliance standards are met.
  • Conduct technical reviews of controls and electrical designs.
  • Support Health & Safety activities and ensure adherence to site standards.
  • Liaise with internal engineering teams, contractors, and site stakeholders throughout project delivery.
  • Act as a key point of contact between the customer and project delivery teams.

Required Experience

  • Strong background in Electrical Engineering and Industrial Automation.
  • Hands-on experience with Rockwell PLC systems.
  • Experience with SCADA systems and industrial networking, including Rockwell switches.
  • Previous experience in a Project Engineer or similar customer-facing engineering role.
  • Ability to review drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Experience working within manufacturing or process environments.

Preferred Experience

  • FMCG manufacturing experience.
  • Food & Beverage or Consumer Goods industry experience.
  • Previous experience supporting projects within a live production facility.
