Process Engineer - Advanced Semiconductor Devices

College Station, Texas - Full time onsite role

We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer to support the development and optimization of advanced compound semiconductor fabrication processes for optoelectronic and photonic device applications.

This is a hands-on technical role focused on process development, device fabrication, and manufacturing optimization within a research-driven environment. The position will play a key role in developing stable, repeatable fabrication methods and supporting the transition of new device concepts into scalable process flows.

What you’ll be doing

  • Develop and maintain semiconductor fabrication processes across multiple unit operations
  • Support process integration activities including lithography, etch, deposition, and metallization techniques
  • Design and execute process characterization, development, and yield improvement experiments
  • Integrate individual process steps into complete device fabrication workflows
  • Troubleshoot fabrication and device performance issues using structured analytical methods
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams and external technical stakeholders on process optimization activities
  • Provide guidance and day-to-day support within a shared cleanroom environment
  • Maintain process documentation, run procedures, and engineering records
  • Work in a fast-paced development environment with evolving technical priorities

What you’ll need

  • Hands-on semiconductor cleanroom process engineering experience
  • Strong understanding of lithography, etch, deposition, and thin film processing techniques
  • Experience working with compound semiconductor materials preferred
  • Familiarity with process control methodologies, yield analysis, and root cause investigation
  • Experience supporting both development and production-oriented process activities
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills within multidisciplinary technical teams
  • Previous mentoring or leadership experience is beneficial
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related technical discipline
