Service Manager (Working Manager) – Commercial DDC Controls
Location: Mobile, Alabama
A well-established controls contractor with over 30 years of industry experience is seeking a Working Service Manager to lead, build, and scale its service division. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both technical execution and strategic development. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the structure, processes, and team needed to grow a dedicated service department, with strong potential to expand the division over time.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Development
- Build and lead the service division from the ground up
- Develop and implement processes, workflows, and best practices
- Establish service agreements and drive recurring revenue growth
- Recruit, mentor, and train service technicians
Operations
- Manage and maintain service accounts
- Schedule, coordinate, and prioritize service activities
- Oversee service contracts, renewals, and client relationships
- Identify system upgrade and improvement opportunities
Technical
- Perform advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting on DDC systems
- Provide technical guidance and support to field technicians
- Assist with system commissioning, optimization, and performance improvements
Qualifications
- Strong background in DDC controls and HVAC systems
- Experience with major platforms (e.g., Niagara, Honeywell, Schneider, etc.)
- Prior leadership or management experience preferred
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Business-oriented mindset with a focus on growth and efficiency
- Valid driver’s license
