Controls Project Engineer
Location: TX / CA (Multiple Sites across North America) – Travel/expenses paid for.

About the Role responsible for the design, programming, commissioning, and testing of complex material handling systems. As a Controls Project Engineer, you will support both small- and large-scale systems that integrate hardware and software components.
This role requires an independent worker capable of delivering tangible results and meeting critical project milestones in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- PLC Design & Programming: Write, debug, and test PLC code (Allen-Bradley); create PLC design sheets and Network Topology Diagrams.
- System Review: Align PLC design with electrical drawings, safety layouts, 480VAC/24VDC specifications, and IO layouts.
- On-Site Commissioning: Lead the commissioning and testing of PLC control panels independently; perform quality checks and document system-level testing.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Identify network communication issues and troubleshoot electrical problems on conveyor systems, motors, and drives.
- Documentation: Create test plans, produced/consumed interface lists, and commissioning checklists; manage and execute project punch lists.
- Subcontractor Management: Monitor and document the progress of subcontractors and provide daily/weekly progress reports.
