Job Description

Senior Optical Controls Engineer | $200K + Equity | Santa Barbara, CA (Relocation Available)

Working with a well-funded photonics company building optical interconnects for data centres.

Ideal background:
• High-speed control systems (kHz–MHz loops), owning architecture & implementation
• FPGA (big plus) / real-time embedded systems
• Control theory (PID, stability, bandwidth, latency)
• Mixed-signal (ADC/DAC, quantisation, timing constraints)
• Experience designing & validating control loops (phase / polarization)
• System bring-up, debugging, long-term stability
• Working closely with hardware / PIC design teams
• Optics / photonics or RF (nice to have)

$200K base + equity
On-site Santa Barbara | Relocation supported (North America)
