Job Description

Senior Optical Systems Test Engineer | $240K + Equity | Santa Barbara, CA (Relocation Available)

Working with a well-funded photonics company building optical interconnects for data centres.

Ideal background:
• High-speed optical / electrical link testing (PAM4, multi-terabit links)
• Strong signal integrity knowledge (jitter, BER, eye diagrams, link budgets)
• Hands-on with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, BERTs, VNAs, OSA, lasers)
• Optical component characterisation (lasers, modulators, photodiodes)
• Test automation (Python preferred, MATLAB/LabVIEW useful)
• Building scalable test frameworks & validation environments
• System-level debugging, failure analysis, and performance optimisation
• Experience leading test activities / mentoring engineers
