An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Chiller Technician to join a global leader in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning solutions. Based in Sydney, this role offers the chance to work with cutting-edge HVAC technology across a wide range of commercial, industrial, and critical environment projects.

The Role

As a Chiller Technician, you’ll be responsible for the service, maintenance, commissioning, and repair of a variety of air-cooled and water-cooled chillers. You’ll work closely with service managers and clients to ensure systems operate efficiently, reliably, and in line with manufacturer standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine service, maintenance, and breakdown repairs on chillers and HVAC systems

  • Diagnose faults and carry out corrective actions efficiently and safely

  • Commission and test new installations and upgrades

  • Conduct performance checks and system optimisation for energy efficiency

  • Complete accurate service reports and maintain detailed records

  • Provide excellent technical support and communication to customers

  • Ensure all work meets safety, quality, and environmental standards

Requirements

  • Trade qualification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (Cert III or equivalent)

  • Current ARCtick Refrigerant Handling Licence

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience working with centrifugal, screw, or scroll chillers

  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, controls, and diagnostics

  • Experience with manufacturers such as Trane, York, Carrier, or Daikin is highly regarded

  • Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills

  • Commitment to safety, customer service, and quality workmanship
