Field Service Technician – Thermal

Job Description
Responsibilities
Field Activities
-
Perform maintenance and time-and-material tasks for thermal products such as CRAC units, Fan Walls, AHUs, and XDUs, ensuring professional, efficient service delivery that meets client expectations while maintaining cost and time efficiency.

Respond promptly to emergency service requests while on 24x7 standby duty.

Be available for weekend, holiday, and after-hours support as required.

Participate in field troubleshooting in collaboration with technical support, fellow field engineers, and third-party vendors.
Safety
-
Follow all required health, safety, and environmental procedures and client safety requirements.

Complete all mandatory safety training courses on schedule.
-
Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), tools, and calibrated instruments during field activities.

Report all safety incidents promptly.
Administrative
-
Support the Team Lead and Manager in planning, scheduling, and organizing departmental activities.
-
Prepare technical documentation such as Method of Statement, Risk Assessments, Site Acceptance Test procedures, and Incident Reports.

Ensure job debriefings are completed promptly and that performance objectives are tracked and met.

Collaborate with the project management team to plan testing and commissioning schedules.

Attend all required technical and safety training.
Client Management

Maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring that any complaints are addressed promptly and corrective actions are taken.

Maintain sufficient technical knowledge to handle the required level of technology for applications, leveraging available training and coaching.

Represent the company professionally in appearance, conduct, and use of company resources, ensuring work is performed efficiently and to a high standard.
Qualifications
-
NITEC, Diploma, or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, with at least 2 years of relevant field service experience.

Knowledge of servicing thermal products including CRAC units, HVAC systems, AHUs, and chillers.

Experience working in critical infrastructure environments is desirable.

Strong customer focus with commitment to exceeding client expectations.

Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills; experience working with culturally diverse teams.

Strong relationship management skills with ability to build long-term partnerships with internal teams and external clients.
