Job Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering projects in Japan, ensuring they align with organizational objectives and meet local business requirements. You will manage project schedules, resources, risks, and stakeholder communication, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. The role involves close collaboration with local teams, regional leadership, and external stakeholders to drive successful outcomes.

Responsibilities

Project Planning and Execution

  • Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets for assigned projects.

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure tasks are completed on time and within scope.

  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.

  • Manage project risks and issues, escalating when necessary.

Stakeholder Communication

  • Maintain regular communication with internal and external stakeholders regarding project progress, risks, and milestones.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned projects, ensuring transparency and clarity.

  • Facilitate meetings, workshops, and project reviews with stakeholders.

Resource and Financial Management

  • Allocate and monitor project resources, including personnel, materials, and budget.

  • Track project financials, ensuring adherence to approved budgets and timelines.

  • Support resource planning and utilization for optimal efficiency across projects.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, reports, risk logs, and meeting notes.

  • Provide regular status updates and performance reports to regional and country-level leadership.

  • Conduct post-project reviews and capture lessons learned for continuous improvement.

Compliance and Quality

  • Ensure all projects comply with internal policies, local regulations, and industry standards.

  • Apply project management methodologies consistently and ensure high-quality deliverables.

  • Promote adherence to safety, legal, and regulatory requirements in project execution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline.

  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) preferred.

  • 5+ years of project management experience, ideally managing medium to large-scale projects.

  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and coordinate multiple stakeholders.

  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate.

  • Experience with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, JIRA) is desirable.
