Job Description

Edison Smart is supporting a confidential client with the appointment of a senior Enterprise Architect to help shape the future of its technology foundations.

This is a strategic architecture role focused on building secure, resilient and scalable infrastructure across cloud, data centre, platform and connectivity environments. You’ll define the target architecture and roadmap, set standards for platform engineering and automation, and work with senior technology teams to guide modernisation.

Key responsibilities

  • Define target-state architecture across hybrid cloud, data centres, compute, storage and connectivity.

  • Set standards for resilient, recoverable infrastructure and help reduce single points of failure.

  • Establish architecture principles for Kubernetes, OpenShift, container platforms and platform engineering.

  • Guide the use of Infrastructure-as-Code, GitOps, automation and policy-driven controls.

  • Develop reference architectures and a modernisation roadmap aligned with security, resilience and operational needs.

  • Provide architectural assurance for infrastructure investment and technology decisions.

  • Lead and develop an architecture team, partnering with engineering, operations, security and technology leaders.

What you’ll bring

  • At least eight years’ experience in infrastructure, cloud or platform architecture within a large enterprise.

  • Experience designing data centre, cloud and resilience architectures.

  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes or OpenShift, platform engineering, Infrastructure-as-Code and GitOps.

  • Understanding of hybrid or multi-cloud environments, disaster recovery and infrastructure recoverability.

  • The ability to set architectural direction and influence senior stakeholders and delivery teams.

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or a related discipline.
