Job Description

Edison Smart is working with a major UAE organisation investing heavily in its next generation of AI capabilities.

We are looking for an experienced AI Architect to take ownership of the technical direction behind complex AI initiatives, helping move emerging technologies from experimentation into scalable, production-grade applications.

This is a senior technical position suited to someone who understands both the engineering behind modern AI systems and the architectural considerations of deploying them within large, complex environments.

 

What You'll Be Doing

  • Shape the technical architecture behind large-scale AI and Generative AI initiatives.

  • Design production-ready solutions leveraging LLMs, intelligent agents and retrieval-based architectures.

  • Establish reusable frameworks that enable engineering teams to develop and deploy AI applications efficiently.

  • Make key technology decisions across model integration, cloud infrastructure, orchestration and data connectivity.

  • Work alongside senior engineering, product and technology stakeholders to turn complex business challenges into practical solutions.

  • Provide architectural direction across multiple engineering teams, ensuring consistency, performance and scalability.

  • Address challenges surrounding AI reliability, security, governance and enterprise integration.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to introduce new capabilities into existing platforms.

 

What We're Looking For

  • Strong background in software engineering, solution architecture or enterprise technology.

  • Significant experience designing and deploying AI/ML applications within complex organisations.

  • Practical understanding of LLM architectures, RAG, embeddings, vector search and agent-based systems.

  • Experience with modern AI development frameworks such as LangChain or equivalent orchestration technologies.

  • Strong cloud experience across Azure and/or AWS.

  • Understanding of distributed systems, API integration and cloud-native architecture.

  • Ability to assess technical trade-offs and make architectural decisions that balance innovation with operational requirements.

  • Experience guiding engineering teams and engaging with senior technical stakeholders.

  • Exposure to highly regulated or large-scale enterprise environments would be advantageous.
