Engagement: Long-term contract

The role

Edison Smart is looking for an Electrical Owner’s Representative to work client-side for a leading global hyperscaler on a new data centre in Austria. Key responsibilities

  • Oversee installation of all electrical systems on the client’s behalf, including MV/LV switchgear, transformers, UPS, generators, busway, PDUs/RPPs, cabling, earthing and EPMS.
  • Carry out site inspections and quality checks, and drive issues through to close-out.
  • Review drawings, submittals, RFIs and method statements for electrical scope.
  • Witness factory and site acceptance testing, and support energisation and commissioning from L1 through to L5.
  • Attend owner, architect and contractor (OAC) meetings, coordination meetings and pre-installation meetings, and report progress, risks and escalations to the client team.
  • Champion safety and quality culture across contractors and trades, including safe energisation practices.

Requirements

  • Strong electrical construction background, ideally from a general contractor, electrical contractor or construction management role.
  • Experience delivering electrical scope on data centres or other mission-critical facilities (hyperscale experience preferred).
  • Solid working knowledge of MV/LV power distribution, critical power systems and how they’re energised and commissioned.
  • Familiarity with European electrical standards (EN/IEC, and ÖVE an advantage).
  • Confident working with GCs, subcontractors, commissioning agents and owner teams.
  • Fluent English (essential). German is a strong advantage.
  • Able to work on site in Upper Austria.

Why apply?

  • Client-side role on a flagship hyperscale project
  • Long-term opportunity in a growing European market
  • Competitive day rate
