Job Description

BMS Technician — Sydney / Newcastle

Our client is a well-established, 100% Australian-owned building and energy management specialist, recognised as an industry pioneer in open-protocol (BACnet) building automation systems. With a strong track record delivering BMS solutions across government, healthcare, defence, and commercial sectors, they are expanding their NSW service capability and are looking for a BMS Technician to join the team in Sydney or Newcastle.

About the Role
You'll be responsible for the servicing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of Building Management Systems across a portfolio of commercial, healthcare, and government sites. This is a hands-on, field-based role suited to a technician who takes pride in getting systems running right and keeping clients happy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain, and troubleshoot BMS/BEMS installations across NSW client sites
  • Commission new BMS installations and integrate with mechanical services (HVAC, chilled water, AHUs, etc.)
  • Diagnose and repair controls faults, working to open-protocol (BACnet) and multi-vendor platforms
  • Liaise directly with clients and site staff, providing a high standard of technical support and service
  • Complete accurate service reports and documentation in line with company quality processes

What We're Looking For

  • Trade background in electrical, instrumentation & control, HVAC, or a related field
  • Demonstrated hands-on BMS/controls experience (e.g. Tridium Niagara, Trend, Trane, Distech, or similar platforms)
  • Comfortable working autonomously across multiple sites
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach
  • Relevant licences/tickets (electrical licence, EWP, working at heights, etc. highly regarded)
  • Experience in commercial, healthcare, or government facilities is a plus

What's on Offer

  • Join a well-established, Australian-owned industry leader with a genuine reputation for quality and service
  • Supportive team environment with long-serving, experienced colleagues
  • Vehicle, tools, and ongoing training/certification support
  • Opportunity to work across a varied portfolio of high-profile sites

If you're a BMS technician looking to step into a hands-on, field-based role with a company that backs its people, we'd love to hear from you.
