Director – Technology Platforms & Operations

Build the technology backbone for a major diversified Group

We are supporting a major UAE organisation as it continues to modernise the technology foundations supporting its Group and subsidiaries.

We're looking for an experienced technology leader to take ownership of the Group's platforms, cloud, data, AI foundations, integration, automation, identity and technology operations.

This is much more than a traditional infrastructure or IT operations position.

The opportunity

You will define and evolve the technology platform strategy that enables business growth, digital transformation and innovation across the organisation.

You'll balance stability, scalability, security and cost efficiency with the need to modernise the technology estate and establish foundations capable of supporting data, AI and future digital initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Define the Group technology platforms and operations roadmap
• Lead cloud, data, AI, integration, automation and identity platforms
• Drive platform standardisation, reuse and scalability
• Own cloud strategy, landing zones and FinOps
• Develop data and analytics platforms supporting AI initiatives
• Lead enterprise integration and API capabilities
• Oversee automation and workflow platforms
• Own Group-wide technology operations and service performance
• Manage strategic technology vendors and managed service providers
• Drive operational resilience, security and technical debt reduction
• Build high-performing platform and operations teams

What we're looking for

• 15+ years in senior technology leadership
• 6+ years in management
• Experience within a large, complex and matrixed organisation
• Enterprise-scale experience across cloud, platforms and technology operations
• Strong understanding of modern data, integration and engineering environments
• Experience managing large vendors and managed service ecosystems
• Strong financial and commercial understanding
• Able to balance operational excellence with innovation and modernisation
• Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred

Experience within a listed, multinational or major diversified organisation is particularly desirable.
