Edison Smart are partnered with a global wireless technology company providing secure, reliable connectivity solutions for medical, industrial and commercial applications.

They are seeking an experienced Field Application Engineer to act as the technical link between customers, sales and engineering. You will support customers throughout product evaluation, integration, design-in and production, helping resolve complex wireless hardware and software challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main technical point of contact throughout customer evaluation and product integration.
  • Drive technical projects from initial evaluation through design win and production.
  • Troubleshoot embedded wireless hardware, software, drivers and connectivity issues.
  • Support Wi-Fi and Bluetooth testing using tools such as wireless sniffers, oscilloscopes and logic analysers.
  • Review schematics and identify relevant test points on hardware platforms.
  • Work closely with sales, product management, engineering, certification and operations teams.
  • Scope customer requests requiring custom engineering or regulatory support.
  • Manage post-sales technical issues and maintain accurate project records within Salesforce.
  • Create and improve application notes, user guides, quick-start materials and release notes.
  • Participate in customer meetings, technical presentations, training and occasional trade shows.

Key Requirements

  • At least five years’ experience in Field Applications Engineering, embedded systems, wireless engineering or a similar customer-facing technical role.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux and embedded device drivers, ideally within wireless products.
  • Ability to write, modify and debug C code.
  • Practical experience troubleshooting embedded hardware and software.
  • Understanding of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or other short-range wireless protocols.
  • Ability to interpret hardware schematics and work with physical test points.
