Shift Pattern: 12-hour shifts (24/7 rotation)
- Week 1: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
- Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Critical Facilities Engineer (CFM Engineer) to support the operation of mission-critical infrastructure within a hyperscale data center environment. This role is essential in maintaining 24/7 uptime for AI and cloud computing platforms.
As an L3-level engineer within our Critical Facilities career framework, you will operate as an independent technical contributor responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient performance of electrical and mechanical systems. You will work closely with Lead and Chief Engineers to ensure operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Critical Infrastructure Operations
- Operate and monitor critical systems, including:
- UPS systems, battery plants, PDUs/RPPs, and switchgear
- Generators and ATS/STS equipment
- CRAH/CRAC units, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and valves
- BMS, EPMS, SCADA, leak detection, and fire-life-safety systems
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnose system issues
- Escalate complex or high-risk issues appropriately
Maintenance & Technical Execution
- Execute preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance with minimal supervision
- Follow and execute MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs with precision
- Contribute to procedure improvements and documentation updates
- Coordinate and oversee vendor activities safely and effectively
Incident Response & Reliability
- Support incident response and operational events
- Assist with post-incident analysis and data collection
- Identify performance trends and recommend improvements
Compliance, Documentation & Reporting
- Ensure adherence to OSHA, NFPA, and internal safety standards
- Maintain detailed logs, maintenance records, and technical documentation
- Support audits (ISO, SOC2, environmental compliance)
Team Collaboration
- Share technical knowledge and best practices
- Contribute to a safety-first, high-performance team culture
Qualifications
Required
- Technical degree, military training, or relevant certifications
- Strong knowledge of:
- Electrical systems (UPS, generators, switchgear, distribution)
- Mechanical systems (chillers, CRAH/CRAC, cooling towers, pumps)
- Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics and diagrams
- Experience executing MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs in live environments
- Advanced troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication and documentation abilities
- Ability to work in a 24/7 shift-based environment
- Physically capable of performing hands-on tasks safely
Preferred
- 2–4 years of experience in data centers, critical facilities, or industrial environments
- Experience with BMS, EPMS, or SCADA systems
- OEM training (e.g., Liebert, Schneider, Cummins, Caterpillar, Trane)
- Familiarity with liquid cooling systems for AI/GPU infrastructure
- Experience working with vendors and contractors
