Job Description

We are seeking a Regional CBQE Specialists to serve as a key on-site controls quality leader supporting new data center construction projects across multiple U.S. regions.

Locations: Atlanta | Manassas | Richmond | Dallas | Salt Lake City | Phoenix | Charlotte

This is a contingent (contract) role focused on ensuring the highest standards in the design, installation, commissioning, and turnover of critical building controls systems, including:

  • Building Management Systems (BMS)
  • Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS)
  • PLC systems
  • SCADA platforms

The CBQE will partner closely with internal project teams, general contractors, and system integrators to ensure compliance with industry & company standards, drive technical excellence, and mitigate risks across the full project lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities

System Integrator Oversight

  • Support selection and evaluation of general contractor system integrators (CSI) and controls contractors
  • Lead CSI performance across all project phases, including QA, calibration, and issue resolution
  • Act as escalation point for controls quality concerns and ensure timely closure of issues

Project Leadership & Coordination

  • Onboard and lead BMS Leads, CSI teams, and E&I contractors
  • Support commercial terms and conditions review
  • Manage factory-installed controls audits and commissioning audits
  • Lead cross-functional and stakeholder coordination meetings
  • Ensure adherence to DIV25 specifications and design deliverables

Quality Assurance & Standardization

  • Conduct inspections of BMS, PLC, and SCADA systems (installation, wiring, commissioning)
  • Ensure consistency and standardization across all projects and sites
  • Validate system functionality including alarms, trends, graphics, and interfaces
  • Support commissioning activities including calibration and witness testing
  • Work with construction teams to maintain accurate controls schedules

Risk Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and mitigate controls architecture risks (including redundancy and single points of failure)
  • Support integration of custom tools into construction workflows
  • Leverage project data to improve delivery timelines and outcomes

Documentation & Issue Management

  • Track and manage issues from identification through resolution
  • Support RFIs and ensure timely closure
  • Maintain clear documentation of controls-related risks, decisions, and resolutions

Site-Based Execution

  • Conduct regular site visits across assigned regions
  • Provide hands-on support during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting
  • Monitor system integrator performance and construction quality in real time

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years’ experience in controls engineering, MEP coordination, commissioning, or mission-critical construction
  • 3+ years’ experience with HVAC controls and electrical power monitoring systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with PLC/DDC-based building automation systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Autodesk, CxAlloy, ACC Build, Procore
  • Experience with PLC, SCADA, and OPC UA systems
  • Certifications such as CAP, PMP, or cGMP
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation and Inductive Automation (Ignition)
