BMS Commissioning Engineer – Data Centres

Location: West London / Slough Region
Contract Length: 6 Months
Type: Contract

Edison Smart is partnered with a leading building automation and controls specialist supporting major critical infrastructure and data centre projects across the UK and Europe.

We are looking for an experienced BMS Commissioning Engineer to support the delivery of large-scale data centre projects across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong BMS commissioning experience who thrives in fast-paced, technically complex environments.


The Role

You will be responsible for the commissioning, delivery, and technical support of Building Management Systems across high-value data centre projects.

This role will involve both hands-on commissioning and project engineering responsibilities, working closely with project managers, clients, and technical teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commission and deliver BMS installations in line with project specifications, programme deadlines, and client requirements
  • Carry out functional testing, validation, and performance verification of BMS hardware and software
  • Support the development of project documentation including control philosophies, point schedules, network architecture, and software strategy
  • Diagnose and resolve technical faults during commissioning and project handover stages
  • Assist in the engineering and delivery of small to medium-sized projects, including managing multiple work packages where required
  • Collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, and end clients to ensure smooth project execution
  • Support site activities across live and operational critical environments including data centres

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a BMS Commissioning Engineer within the building controls industry
  • Strong knowledge of Schneider EcoStruxure, Trend, or similar BMS platforms
  • Experience with Tridium, ALC, or other major BMS systems would be beneficial
  • Good understanding of mechanical plant and HVAC systems
  • Previous exposure to data centre environments is highly advantageous
  • Strong experience in BMS control strategy design, engineering, and commissioning
  • Ability to read panel wiring diagrams and electrical schematics
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills with a structured troubleshooting approach
  • Confident communicator, able to work with both technical teams and client stakeholders
  • Organised, self-sufficient, and able to manage workload under pressure
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Right to work in the UK and ability to travel across Europe when required
  • CSCS card (or equivalent) preferred
