About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical QA/QC Engineer to join a major Data Centre construction project in Frankfurt. This is a long-term contract opportunity on a high-profile hyperscale development, offering stability, extensions, and competitive daily rates.

You will play a key role in ensuring all mechanical systems are installed, tested, and commissioned to the highest standards, in line with project specifications, industry codes, and client expectations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and implement QA/QC procedures for all mechanical installations (HVAC, piping, ductwork, BMS interfaces, etc.)
  • Review and approve Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and method statements
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards
  • Monitor installation works and ensure adherence to approved drawings and procedures
  • Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure quality requirements are met
  • Manage snagging, de-snagging, and handover documentation
  • Witness testing and commissioning activities
  • Maintain accurate QA/QC documentation, including reports and records
  • Interface with client representatives, consultants, and project teams
  • Support audits and ensure compliance with ISO and project-specific QA standards

Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in QA/QC roles on large-scale construction projects
  • Proven experience working on Data Centre projects (hyperscale preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems including:
    • HVAC systems (CRAH/CRAC units, chillers, cooling towers)
    • Pipework and pressurised systems
    • Fire suppression systems (e.g., sprinkler, gas systems)
  • Familiarity with QA/QC processes, documentation, and inspection protocols
  • Experience with commissioning and handover procedures
  • Knowledge of relevant standards (ISO 9001, ASME, ANSI, etc.)
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-spec environment

Desirable

  • Previous experience working in live or mission-critical environments
  • Familiarity with European construction standards and regulations
  • QA/QC certifications or relevant professional memberships
