Job Title: Mechanical QA/QC Engineer

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical QA/QC Engineer to join a major Data Centre construction project in Frankfurt. This is a long-term contract opportunity on a high-profile hyperscale development, offering stability, extensions, and competitive daily rates.
You will play a key role in ensuring all mechanical systems are installed, tested, and commissioned to the highest standards, in line with project specifications, industry codes, and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and implement QA/QC procedures for all mechanical installations (HVAC, piping, ductwork, BMS interfaces, etc.)
- Review and approve Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and method statements
- Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards
- Monitor installation works and ensure adherence to approved drawings and procedures
- Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure quality requirements are met
- Manage snagging, de-snagging, and handover documentation
- Witness testing and commissioning activities
- Maintain accurate QA/QC documentation, including reports and records
- Interface with client representatives, consultants, and project teams
- Support audits and ensure compliance with ISO and project-specific QA standards
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in QA/QC roles on large-scale construction projects
- Proven experience working on Data Centre projects (hyperscale preferred)
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems including:
- HVAC systems (CRAH/CRAC units, chillers, cooling towers)
- Pipework and pressurised systems
- Fire suppression systems (e.g., sprinkler, gas systems)
- Familiarity with QA/QC processes, documentation, and inspection protocols
- Experience with commissioning and handover procedures
- Knowledge of relevant standards (ISO 9001, ASME, ANSI, etc.)
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-spec environment
Desirable
- Previous experience working in live or mission-critical environments
- Familiarity with European construction standards and regulations
- QA/QC certifications or relevant professional memberships
