BMS Commissioning Engineer

Edison Smart is supporting a leading building controls specialist in the search for experienced BMS Commissioning Engineers to deliver major commercial building projects across Central London.

This role offers the opportunity to work across a variety of high-profile commercial sites including offices, mixed-use developments, and critical infrastructure projects, supporting full BMS commissioning and project delivery.

The client is system-agnostic, so engineers with experience across multiple BMS platforms are encouraged to apply.

The Role

You will be responsible for commissioning, testing, fault-finding, and delivering BMS systems across live and new-build commercial projects.

Working closely with project managers, site teams, and end clients, you will ensure systems are delivered to specification, programme, and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Commission and complete BMS installations across commercial building projects
• Carry out functional testing, point-to-point checks, and system validation
• Support control strategy implementation and optimisation
• Diagnose and resolve BMS faults during commissioning and handover stages
• Read and interpret panel wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings
• Assist with project documentation including point schedules and commissioning reports
• Work collaboratively with engineers, PMs, subcontractors, and client teams
• Support delivery across multiple live and fast-paced project environments

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as a BMS Commissioning Engineer within the building controls industry
• Experience across multiple BMS platforms such as Trend, Tridium, Schneider, Honeywell, Siemens, Cylon, ALC or similar
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems and mechanical plant
• Experience commissioning within commercial buildings
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Ability to read electrical schematics and panel drawings
• Experience with BMS control strategies and system optimisation
• Confident working independently on site and managing commissioning activities
• Strong communication skills and professional client-facing approach
• CSCS card preferred
• Full right to work in the UK
