Our client, a well-established and rapidly growing BAS systems integrator based in Dallas, TX, is seeking an experienced Lead Systems Engineer with strong Distech Controls expertise to play a pivotal role in their continued growth.

This is a senior, hands-on position suited to a driven professional who enjoys technical leadership, mentoring engineers, and helping shape the future of a high-performing controls division.

The Role

As Lead Systems Engineer, you will take ownership of complex BAS projects from design through delivery while acting as a technical authority within the business. You’ll be deeply involved in programming, graphics development, and system optimisation, while also leading and developing a team of engineers and supporting the growth of the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the engineering delivery of BAS projects using Distech Controls

  • Develop and commission control logic, programming, and custom graphics

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to systems engineers

  • Support project standards, best practices, and quality control

  • Collaborate with project managers, clients, and internal stakeholders

  • Assist leadership with department growth, process improvement, and technical strategy

  • Act as a technical escalation point and client-facing expert when required

Key Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience as a BAS / Controls Systems Engineer in a leadership capacity

  • Strong hands-on experience with Distech Controls (Other control line experience will be considered)

  • Expertise in programming, graphics, and commissioning

  • Solid understanding of HVAC systems and building automation architecture

  • Experience leading or mentoring engineering teams

  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, growth-focused mindset
