Lead RF Systems Engineer
Location: Essex
Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 pa
Description:
A global Defence & Security company are looking for an Lead RF Systems Engineer to join their engineering team developing novel communication and security solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership across RF development projects, from early research to prototype demonstration.
- Define and develop RF system architectures, performing trade-off and performance analyses.
- Coordinate input from antenna, electronics, firmware, and software specialists to deliver integrated solutions.
- Represent technical solutions to customers, producing system briefs and roadmaps.
- Collaborate with project and engineering managers to meet quality and delivery targets.
- Mentor and support engineers, encouraging technical development and best practice.
Key Skills/Experience Required:
- Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Physics or another relevant discipline
- RF Systems
- RF components/sub-systems (Antennas, front-end circuits, signal chains, and overall integration)
- System planning, analysis, and modelling.
- Experience with product life cycle design from early stage concepts
- Solid presentation abilities for client interactions and technical reviews.
- Strong teamwork across technical and operational groups.
- Eligible for at least UK SC level clearance
Bonus skills/Nice to have’s:
- EM theory
- RF/DSP tools, and simulation software.
- Experience with RADAR/EW technologies
- Experience with full system testing and verification.
- Defence protocols, tools or standards (e.g., DOORS, SysML).
