Senior Design Engineer – Mechanical/Control Systems (Critical Facilities)

Edison Smart is hiring on behalf of our client — an established engineering consultancy delivering cutting-edge automation, BMS, and control solutions across mission-critical facilities worldwide.

We’re seeking a Senior Design Engineer with a strong background in controls, instrumentation, and mechanical systems to drive high-impact design and integration projects. You’ll work alongside technical specialists developing industry-leading documentation and engineering deliverables for large-scale construction and automation programs.

What You’ll Do:
• Develop and deliver detailed control system designs, network architectures, and instrumentation drawings.
• Write control sequences, operations narratives, and specifications aligned with client standards.
• Conduct site surveys, vendor oversight, and technical reviews to ensure compliance and quality.
• Mentor junior engineers, setting the standard for precision and efficiency across all deliverables.
• Support project management and business development efforts through client meetings and technical presentations.

What You Bring:
• Degree in Engineering or equivalent industry experience (8+ years).
• Proven background in control systems design, BMS, EPMS, or SCADA implementation.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical/electrical systems and sequence of operations.
• Solid understanding of IT/OT network infrastructure and low-voltage system integration.
• Advanced AutoCAD proficiency; working knowledge of Revit, Visio, and Bluebeam.
• Experience with one or more of the following: Rockwell RSLogix, Siemens Step 7, Schneider Ecostruxure, or ALC WEBCtrl.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred.
