Project Manager – Energy Storage Systems (ESS)

The Opportunity

We’re supporting a leading European energy technology business delivering large-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across Europe.

Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Project Manager to take ownership of ESS project delivery from contract award through to commissioning and final customer acceptance.

This is a key role acting as the main point of contact for customers while coordinating all internal teams to ensure successful project delivery across multiple European sites.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead end-to-end delivery of ESS projects from order intake through to final handover.
• Own project planning, scheduling, budgeting and resource coordination.
• Act as the main customer interface throughout the full project lifecycle.
• Coordinate engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, commissioning and service teams.
• Track project progress against scope, cost, quality and timeline targets.
• Identify and manage risks, issues and change throughout delivery.
• Manage project documentation, reporting and stakeholder updates.
• Oversee site execution activities with commissioning and subcontractor teams.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and contractual requirements.
• Support final testing, acceptance and project close-out.

What They’re Looking For

• 3–8+ years’ experience in Project Management or Project Execution roles.
• Background in energy, electrical infrastructure, renewable energy or industrial projects.
• Strong experience managing complex, multidisciplinary projects.
• Confident managing customers, stakeholders and internal delivery teams.
• Good understanding of electrical systems, EPC environments or industrial project delivery.
• Experience in ESS, BESS, PV, MV/LV systems, PCS or SCADA is beneficial but not essential.
• International project experience is a plus.
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.

Commissioning Engineer – Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

The Opportunity

I'm supporting a leading European energy technology business that is expanding its project delivery team due to continued growth across Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects throughout Europe.

We're looking for experienced Commissioning Engineers to support the testing, commissioning and successful handover of utility-scale energy storage projects across Germany, France, Italy and Sweden.

This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge renewable energy projects while travelling across Europe, with all business travel and expenses covered.

Responsibilities

• Commission Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and associated electrical infrastructure.
• Carry out functional, operational and performance testing during project commissioning.
• Commission and validate battery systems, power conversion systems, MV/LV equipment, EMS, SCADA and auxiliary systems.
• Support site energisation and grid integration activities.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues during commissioning.
• Work closely with Project Managers, engineering teams, subcontractors and customers throughout project delivery.
• Complete commissioning documentation, site reports and final handover packs.
• Ensure all commissioning activities are completed safely and in accordance with project and quality standards.

Experience Required

• 3+ years' experience in commissioning, field service or project delivery within industrial electrical or automation environments.
• Previous experience commissioning Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) is highly desirable.
• Candidates with experience in renewable energy, Solar PV, power conversion systems, transformers or grid infrastructure will also be considered.
• Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and automation.
• Experience working with Medium Voltage and Low Voltage equipment.
• Familiarity with SCADA, EMS and industrial communication networks is advantageous.
• Previous FAT, SAT and site commissioning experience.
• Comfortable travelling across Europe as projects require.

Commissioning Engineer

A leading electrical firm is seeking experienced Commissioning Engineers to support a strong pipeline of high-voltage substation projects across Victoria.

With significant long-term investment in grid infrastructure and renewable energy integration, the business is expanding its commissioning capability and is hiring multiple engineers over the coming months.

The Role

As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for the testing, commissioning and energisation of high-voltage electrical substations.

You will ensure electrical systems and Protection & Control equipment are fully tested, validated and safely commissioned prior to energisation and handover to the network.

This is a hands-on HV electrical commissioning role focused on substations and protection systems. 

Key Responsibilities

• Commission electrical systems within HV substation projects

• Perform testing, fault finding and energisation of protection and primary equipment

• Test protection relays, circuit breakers, transformers and associated secondary systems

• Carry out commissioning activities in accordance with project specifications and industry standards

• Complete commissioning documentation, reports and test records

• Liaise with project managers, clients and site teams during commissioning activities

• Support safe energisation and final handover of electrical assets

• Ensure compliance with safety and electrical standards at all times

Requirements

• Experience in high-voltage (HV) substations

• Strong background in electrical commissioning

• Experience with Protection & Control systems

• Experience with protection relays and secondary systems testing

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and protection drawings

• Experience working in live electrical infrastructure environments
