The Opportunity

Are you a BMS Engineer looking to take the next step into project management, or an experienced BMS Project Manager ready for a new challenge?

An established building automation business with operations across multiple Australian states is looking for a BMS Project Engineer / Manager to join its growing Melbourne team.

This is a hands-on, varied position combining BMS engineering, project delivery and client management. You'll take ownership of projects from initial planning through to commissioning and handover, working closely with clients, contractors and the wider management team to deliver high-quality building automation solutions.

There's also an opportunity to help shape the future of the business as it continues to grow its presence in the Victorian market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage BMS projects from design and planning through to installation, commissioning and handover.

  • Provide technical support across BMS engineering, programming, configuration and troubleshooting.

  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

  • Work closely with clients, consultants, mechanical contractors and facilities teams.

  • Monitor project budgets, schedules and resources while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

  • Identify opportunities to improve project delivery, strengthen client relationships and support business growth.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience within the BMS / BAS / Building Automation industry.

  • Background in BMS engineering, project engineering or project management.

  • Strong understanding of building automation systems, HVAC controls and project delivery.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and communicate effectively with clients and contractors.

  • A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong organisational skills and a genuine interest in delivering quality technical solutions.
