Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Mobile Engineer to own and develop the company's customer-facing mobile experience across iOS and Android.

This is a hands-on engineering role responsible for designing, building and maintaining secure, reliable and high- performing mobile applications used for onboarding, KYC, wallets, payments, cards, digital asset transfers and conversions. The successful candidate will work closely with Product, Design, Backend, DevOps and Quality Assurance teams to deliver customer journeys that users can trust with their money.

The ideal candidate has significant production experience with Flutter and Dart, working knowledge of native iOS or Android development, and a strong understanding of mobile security, payments, digital assets, testing and controlled release management.

Key Responsibilities

Mobile Product Engineering

• Design, build and maintain the customer application in Flutter, with the ability to develop or support native iOS modules in Swift and Android modules in Kotlin where required.

• Own critical customer journeys, including onboarding, KYC, wallets, balances, card issuing and management, digital asset send, pay and swap functionality, and push notifications.

• Translate product requirements and designs into scalable, maintainable and high-quality mobile features. • Contribute to mobile architecture, coding standards, modularisation and long-term technical direction.

Payments, Cards & Digital Assets

• Integrate and maintain Apple Pay and Google Pay in-app card provisioning with card-issuing and BIN-sponsor partners.

• Build secure mobile experiences for payments, cards, digital asset balances, transfers and conversions.

• Support crypto wallet journeys, send and receive functionality, swaps and WalletConnect-style integrations where

applicable.

• Ensure financial workflows present clear status, confirmation, error and recovery states.

API Integration & Real-Time Experiences

• Build secure integrations with REST and gRPC APIs across Java/Spring Boot, TypeScript/NestJS and .NET services.

• Work with Backend Engineers to define clear API contracts, event-driven workflows and consistent mobile data models.

• Implement real-time balance and transaction updates, offline states, retries and resilient error handling.

• Ensure customer-facing data remains accurate, timely and consistent across devices and services.

Security, Quality & Customer-Funds Protection

• Apply secure mobile engineering practices for applications handling sensitive customer, payment and digital asset data.

• Implement controls for secure storage, biometrics, certificate pinning, authentication, session management and

protection of secrets.

• Ensure mobile design decisions support customer-funds protection, privacy and regulatory requirements.

• Partner with Security, Compliance and Engineering to remediate vulnerabilities and maintain controlled development and

release environments.

Testing, Release & Production Reliability

• Champion unit, widget and end-to-end automation for critical customer and financial workflows. • Improve automated coverage using Flutter integration testing, Patrol, Appium or comparable tools. • Integrate builds, testing, code signing and releases into CI/CD pipelines for predictable delivery. • Manage staged rollouts and monitor crash-free rates, performance, startup time and production health.

Platform Compliance & Cross-Functional Delivery

• Navigate Apple App Store and Google Play submission, review and compliance requirements for financial and crypto applications.

• Collaborate with Product and Design to create intuitive, trusted and accessible customer experiences. • Coordinate with Backend, DevOps and Quality Assurance on dependencies, release readiness and incidents. • Stay current with iOS, Android, Flutter and emerging mobile engineering practices.

Technical Leadership & Mentorship

• Provide technical mentorship and constructive code-review feedback. • Promote clear engineering standards, documentation and ownership across the mobile codebase. • Improve developer experience, delivery speed, maintainability and product quality. • Communicate technical risks, trade-offs and recommendations clearly.

Required Experience & Profile

• 6+ years of experience building and shipping production mobile applications, including significant Flutter and Dart experience.

• Working knowledge of native iOS development in Swift and/or Android development in Kotlin. • Experience delivering applications handling sensitive customer data, payments or financial transactions. • Strong understanding of mobile architecture, state management, dependency injection and modularisation. • Experience integrating REST APIs and working effectively with backend engineering teams. • Practical experience with secure storage, biometrics, certificate pinning and secure application design. • Experience with unit, widget, integration and end-to-end mobile testing. • Experience with mobile CI/CD, code signing, staged rollouts and production monitoring.

• Experience managing App Store and Google Play submissions and resolving review issues. • Strong ownership, problem-solving and cross-functional communication skills.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience within fintech, payments, banking, cards, wallets, crypto or digital assets. • Hands-on experience with Apple Pay or Google Pay in-app card provisioning. • Familiarity with card issuing, BIN sponsorship and wallet integrations. • Experience with crypto wallets, digital asset balances, transfers, swaps or WalletConnect-style integrations. • Experience consuming gRPC services and working within event-driven architectures. • Knowledge of financial application security and regulated product environments. • Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to architecture and engineering standards.
