BAS Programmer – Houston, TX

Salary: Up to $130,000 + benefits
Location: Houston, Texas

We’re working with a well-established building automation and controls company in Houston that is expanding its team and looking for an experienced BAS Programmer.

The company delivers building automation, HVAC controls and energy management solutions across commercial, healthcare, education, industrial and other large-scale facilities. They work across the full project lifecycle, from controls design and programming through to commissioning, integration and ongoing service.

The Role

As a BAS Programmer, you’ll be responsible for programming, configuring, integrating and commissioning building automation systems. You’ll work closely with project managers, engineers, technicians and customers to deliver reliable and efficient HVAC control solutions.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to take ownership of technically challenging BAS projects while continuing to develop their programming and controls expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Program and configure BAS/BMS control systems
  • Develop control sequences and graphics based on project requirements
  • Configure controllers, points, alarms, trends and schedules
  • Integrate HVAC equipment and third-party systems into BAS platforms
  • Troubleshoot programming and controls issues
  • Support system commissioning and start-up
  • Review sequences of operation and control drawings
  • Perform system testing and make programming adjustments
  • Work with technicians and engineers during installation and commissioning
  • Provide technical support to customers and internal teams
  • Complete project documentation and programming records

Experience Required

  • Previous experience programming BAS/BMS or HVAC control systems
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems and building automation
  • Experience with control logic, graphics and system integration
  • Ability to understand sequences of operation and control schematics
  • Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus and other communication protocols
  • Experience with commissioning and troubleshooting BAS systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Experience with Niagara/Tridium, Distech, Schneider, Siemens, Honeywell or similar BAS platforms would be highly beneficial.
