BAS Technician – Houston, TX

Salary: Up to $100,000 + benefits
Location: Houston, Texas

We’re working with a well-established building automation and controls company in Houston that is growing its team and looking to add experienced BAS Technicians.

The company delivers building automation, HVAC controls and energy management solutions across commercial buildings, healthcare, education, industrial facilities and other large-scale environments. They work across the full lifecycle of BAS projects, from installation and programming through to commissioning, service and ongoing support.

The Role

As a BAS Technician, you’ll be responsible for the installation, service, troubleshooting and commissioning of building automation systems across customer sites in the Houston area.

You’ll work closely with engineers, programmers, project managers and customers to ensure BAS systems are operating efficiently and reliably.

Responsibilities

  • Install, commission and service BAS/BMS systems
  • Troubleshoot HVAC controls and building automation issues
  • Diagnose electrical, controls and communication problems
  • Work with controllers, sensors, actuators, VFDs and other HVAC control equipment
  • Perform system start-up, testing and commissioning
  • Support integration of HVAC equipment into BAS networks
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, control schematics and sequence of operations
  • Communicate directly with customers and provide technical support
  • Complete service reports and project documentation
  • Travel locally to customer sites throughout the Houston area

Experience Required

  • Previous experience working with BAS/BMS or HVAC controls
  • Strong understanding of HVAC control systems
  • Experience with troubleshooting and commissioning
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and control schematics
  • Understanding of BACnet, Modbus or other building automation protocols
  • Electrical and controls troubleshooting experience
  • Strong customer-facing and communication skills

Experience with platforms such as Niagara, Distech, Schneider, Tridium, Siemens, Honeywell or similar systems would be highly beneficial.
