Senior BMS Engineer – Sydney

I’m currently working with a well-established building services and engineering consultancy that specialises in the design, delivery and optimisation of Building Management Systems (BMS), Building Automation and smart building solutions across major commercial and infrastructure projects.

They are looking to appoint an experienced Senior BMS Engineer to join their Sydney team and take a leading role across technically complex projects.

The Role

As a Senior BMS Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise across the full lifecycle of BMS projects, from design and engineering through to commissioning and client handover.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead the engineering and technical delivery of BMS and building automation projects.
• Develop and review BMS designs, control strategies, sequences of operation and technical documentation.
• Work closely with mechanical, electrical and other building services disciplines.
• Support project teams with BMS architecture, controls design and system integration.
• Review drawings, specifications and technical submissions.
• Assist with commissioning, troubleshooting and system optimisation.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers and junior team members.
• Liaise directly with clients, contractors, consultants and project stakeholders.
• Contribute to the development of smart building and energy optimisation solutions.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Strong experience within BMS / BAS / Building Automation engineering.
• A background in building services, HVAC controls or automation.
• Experience working on large-scale commercial, infrastructure, healthcare, data centre or high-end building projects.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, DDC controls and BMS architecture.
• Experience with platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Schneider, Siemens, Honeywell, Johnson Controls or similar would be advantageous.
• Ability to interpret mechanical services drawings, control schematics and sequences of operation.
• Strong project and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to work autonomously while providing technical leadership to wider project teams.
