BMS Technician / Electrician – Melbourne
Location: Melbourne, Victoria
Employment Type: Full-time

The Opportunity
We are working with a well-established Building Management Systems and HVAC Controls business that is looking to add an experienced BMS Technician / Electrician to its Melbourne team.
This is a hands-on role suited to a BMS Technician, Controls Electrician or Electrical Technician who enjoys working on BMS service, fault finding, commissioning and small project works across commercial buildings.
You will work with a range of customers and building services contractors, providing technical support and ensuring BMS and HVAC control systems are operating efficiently and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain and troubleshoot BMS and HVAC control systems
- Diagnose electrical, controls and communication faults
- Carry out BMS installations, modifications and upgrades
- Complete point-to-point testing and commissioning
- Install and terminate control panels, sensors, actuators and field devices
- Work with BACnet, Modbus and other BMS communication protocols
- Undertake electrical fault finding associated with HVAC control systems
- Configure and commission BMS controllers
- Assist with BMS programming, graphics and system integration
- Read and interpret electrical, mechanical and controls drawings
- Complete service reports and project documentation
- Liaise with customers, mechanical contractors, electricians and project teams
- Travel to customer sites across Melbourne as required
About You
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in BMS, HVAC Controls or electrical services and be comfortable working independently on customer sites.
You will ideally have:
- Experience as a BMS Technician, Controls Electrician, Electrical Technician or similar
- Electrical trade qualification / A-Grade Electrical Licence
- Experience working with BMS or HVAC control systems
- Strong electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with BMS commissioning and service
- Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus and HVAC control systems
- Experience with platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Schneider, Siemens, Honeywell, Distech, Trend or similar
- Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- A full Australian driver's licence
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider project/service team
