Edison Smart is partnering with a growing technology business to hire a Data Integration Engineer.
You’ll join a technical team responsible for connecting complex external systems with a modern data platform, building reliable integrations capable of handling high-volume and business-critical data.
The role will suit someone with strong software engineering and integration experience who enjoys solving complex connectivity and data ingestion challenges.
Responsibilities

Design, build and maintain integrations across external platforms and enterprise systems.

Develop scalable ingestion pipelines supporting both batch and real-time data.

Build robust APIs, connectors and integration services.

Work closely with data engineering teams to transform incoming data into consistent, trusted datasets.

Implement resilient error handling, retry and recovery mechanisms.

Develop monitoring and alerting around integration performance and availability.

Troubleshoot complex integration and data-flow issues.

Improve automation, scalability and reliability across integration processes.

Work with internal and external technical teams to onboard new data sources.

Take ownership of integrations throughout their production lifecycle.
Technical Experience

Strong programming experience with Python, Java or comparable backend technologies.

Experience building production-grade integrations and data ingestion services.

Strong knowledge of REST APIs, with exposure to SOAP, GraphQL and webhooks.

Understanding of modern authentication and authorisation standards including OAuth2 and JWT.

Experience with API management or gateway technologies.

Experience integrating with enterprise platforms such as ERP, CRM or other third-party systems.

Knowledge of event-driven architectures and message brokers such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.

Understanding of batch and streaming data patterns.

Experience with modern CI/CD and automated deployment practices.

Strong understanding of reliability, monitoring and error handling within distributed systems.
What We're Looking For
You’ll be an integration engineer who enjoys making complex systems communicate reliably. You should be comfortable dealing with inconsistent data sources, external dependencies and production-critical integrations while taking ownership of problems through to resolution.
Experience within financial technology, enterprise software, financial services or other integration-heavy environments would be advantageous.
