Job Description

Edison Smart is partnering with a growing technology business to hire a Data Analyst with strong SQL and analytics experience.

You’ll work across data, product and machine learning teams, turning complex datasets into clear metrics, reporting and actionable insights.

The role will suit someone who combines advanced SQL capability with strong commercial thinking and can translate technical data into information that stakeholders can actually use.

Responsibilities

  • Develop advanced SQL queries to generate business-critical KPIs, metrics and reporting.

  • Build and maintain dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Work with machine learning teams to translate model outputs into clear, actionable insights.

  • Partner with product teams to define and improve performance and operational metrics.

  • Analyse large datasets to identify trends, anomalies and opportunities.

  • Ensure reporting and KPIs are accurate, reproducible and traceable to underlying data.

  • Support ad-hoc analysis across product, operations and customer-facing teams.

  • Develop scalable reporting processes and reduce manual analysis.

  • Communicate complex findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Technical Experience

  • Advanced SQL / T-SQL experience, including stored procedures, CTEs, window functions and query optimisation.

  • Strong experience with BI and data visualisation platforms such as Power BI, Tableau or Looker.

  • Experience working with modern data warehouse or data lake environments.

  • Understanding of machine learning workflows and the ability to interpret model outputs.

  • Python or R experience for data analysis and automation.

  • Strong understanding of statistics, KPI development and analytical methodologies.

  • Experience working with large, complex datasets.

  • Ability to translate business requirements into measurable data and reporting frameworks.

What We're Looking For

You’ll be a data analyst who cares about accuracy, usability and the commercial impact of your work. You should be comfortable taking ownership of metrics, questioning the data and working across multiple teams to establish reliable sources of information.

Experience within financial technology, financial services, high-volume transactional businesses or other data-intensive environments would be advantageous.
