Job Description
Edison Smart is partnering with a growing technology business in the UAE to hire a Platform Engineer with strong DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering experience.
You’ll work across cloud infrastructure, deployment automation and production reliability, helping build and operate the foundations supporting a modern, highly available technology platform.
This is a hands-on engineering position with significant ownership across infrastructure, automation and production environments.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain scalable, highly available cloud infrastructure.
- Develop and improve automated build, deployment and release processes.
- Manage containerised workloads and orchestration environments.
- Build infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code and automation.
- Improve platform reliability, resilience and operational performance.
- Develop monitoring, alerting and observability across production systems.
- Work closely with software engineering teams to improve deployment and operational practices.
- Support incident response, root-cause analysis and preventative engineering.
- Strengthen infrastructure security and access controls.
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual processes through automation.
- Take ownership of platform reliability throughout the production lifecycle.
Technical Experience
- Strong experience within Platform Engineering, DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering.
- Production experience with a major public cloud platform, ideally Azure.
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker and containerised environments.
- Experience designing and maintaining modern CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform, Pulumi or similar technologies.
- Experience with monitoring, metrics, logging and distributed observability.
- Understanding of secrets management and secure infrastructure practices.
- Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, PowerShell or similar.
- Experience supporting highly available production systems.
- Good understanding of incident management, reliability engineering and root-cause analysis.
What We're Looking For
You’ll be an engineer who enjoys taking ownership of infrastructure rather than simply maintaining it. You should be comfortable operating in production environments, solving complex reliability problems and building automation that enables engineering teams to move quickly without compromising stability.
Experience within high-growth, high-availability or regulated technology environments would be advantageous.
