Job Description

Edison Smart is partnering with a growing technology business in the UAE to hire a Security & Compliance Engineer.

This is a hands-on position responsible for strengthening security across cloud infrastructure, applications and engineering practices while supporting the organisation's regulatory and compliance requirements.

You’ll work closely with engineering and technology leadership to embed security throughout the development lifecycle and continuously improve the organisation's overall security posture.

Responsibilities

• Drive security and compliance initiatives across a regulated technology environment.
• Embed security best practices throughout engineering and product development.
• Conduct penetration testing, vulnerability assessments and security reviews.
• Perform application and code-level security assessments.
• Strengthen cloud security, access controls and identity management.
• Develop security monitoring, detection and incident-response capabilities.
• Support industry security and data-protection standards.
• Establish best practices around encryption, tokenisation and key management.
• Work directly with engineers to improve secure development practices.
• Identify security risks and take ownership of remediation.

Technical Experience

• Strong application and cloud security experience.
• Experience working within fintech, payments, banking or another regulated environment.
• Knowledge of recognised security and compliance frameworks such as PCI-DSS and ISO 27001.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, ideally within Azure environments.
• Experience with Identity & Access Management.
• Hands-on penetration testing and vulnerability-management experience.
• Experience with SIEM, security monitoring and incident detection.
• Strong understanding of secure SDLC and secure coding principles.
• Knowledge of encryption, tokenisation, secrets and key management.
• Exposure to financial-services regulation within the GCC is advantageous.
