Identity & Access Management Engineer (IAM Engineer)

Up to £70k + 10% Annual Bonus

Basingstoke, Hampshire – Hybrid (3 days per week onsite)

Edison Smart has partnered with a global leader in animal health to hire an Identity & Access Management (IAM) Engineer, who will be technically responsible for all Identity services globally within a complex, global identity environment.

In this role, you'll bring deep technical expertise to a global identity function - engaging with delivery partners, architects and security teams to design and deliver technically sound, business-driven IAM solutions across Privileged Access Management, Active Directory and modern authentication protocols. This is a hands-on technical role and does not include people management.

The Role

  • Own AD/AAD identity and access delivery, interfacing with delivery partners to ensure fit-for-purpose delivery within the IAM space
  • Ensure documentation, change requests and related processes are accurate and compliant with SOX
  • Coordinate and facilitate QA/audit escalation issues with delivery partners, the Chief IAM Architect and QA/GRC
  • Act as SME across various forums, ensuring projects and programmes are technically sound and deliver the expected outcomes
  • Build strong partnerships across the technical community, Information Security and application owners to identify opportunities and mitigate risk
  • Lead deep dives into key initiatives to resolve major incidents, complex problems and realise opportunities
  • Help embed security, privacy, data protection and quality assurance across IT
  • Partner with operational teams and Chief Architects to understand current and future IAM requirements
  • Work with L1–L3 IAM/Identity support teams, including credential management, system review and access control actions in Azure PIM
  • Track emerging technology directions across the Identity space
  • Engage with the wider Identity community, internally and externally, to share, educate and inspire

The Ideal Candidate

Must Have:

  • 2+ years' experience across Identity, including Privileged Access Management, Active Directory, SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, Azure AD Connect, Conditional Access and Entra ID governance
  • Experience leading technology projects within complex, global environments
  • Experience designing and delivering enterprise technology solutions
  • Experience working with public cloud architecture (Azure, GCP, etc.)
  • Track record executing large-scale, transformative strategic plans
  • Exceptional facilitation and organisational skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas across all levels of IT and to third parties
