Senior Vice President – Strategic Planning & Governance
Lead technology strategy at Group level
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE
Relocation: International candidates from Europe or APAC will certainly be considered.
We are supporting a major, diversified UAE organisation as it continues to transform and strengthen its Group Technology function.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced technology strategy and governance professional who can operate across a large, complex and highly matrixed organisation, bringing together multiple business units, subsidiaries and technology functions under a clear strategic framework.
You will act as a senior counterpart to the Executive Director of Group Technology, providing leadership across technology strategy, portfolio prioritisation, investment governance, financial oversight, risk, PMO and service performance.
The opportunity
You will own the Group Technology strategy and roadmap, ensuring technology initiatives across the Group are appropriately planned, prioritised, funded, governed and measured.
A major part of the role will be bringing together strong technology leaders across different verticals and businesses, resolving competing priorities and creating greater consistency across the wider technology portfolio.
Key responsibilities
- Define and execute the Group Technology strategy and multi-year roadmap
- Lead Group-level technology investment planning and prioritisation
- Establish and enforce portfolio and governance frameworks across multiple businesses
- Drive alignment between Group Technology, Digital and subsidiary technology teams
- Oversee technology financial governance, budgeting and investment decisions
- Lead technology audit, risk and compliance activities
- Establish consistent PMO, change management and service performance standards
- Build and lead the Strategic Planning & Governance function
- Influence senior technology and business stakeholders across the Group
What we're looking for
- 12–15+ years within technology strategy, governance, portfolio or transformation leadership
- Experience within a large, complex and matrixed organisation
- Strong experience operating across multiple entities, business units or geographies
- Background in Group-level investment governance and portfolio management
- Strong commercial and financial understanding
- Experience with technology risk, audit and compliance
- Executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders without direct reporting authority
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred
Experience gained within a listed company, multinational organisation or major diversified group would be highly attractive.
